Leo's series of 9 paintings inspired by the Mother Emanuel tragedy are stunning in their power as individual works of art, but taken together they are reflect an artist who is at the height of his visual powers. When I saw a few of the works at his studio I was blown away by their symbolism and texture. I'm sure this will be the first of many articles written about the show.
